As part of the Long Night of Sciences, the Erfurt Theater opens its doors and invites visitors to a special behind-the-scenes look. On November 6, 2026, the theater visit combines exciting insights into technical processes and work areas that are usually hidden from the audience.
Stage Rehearsal of “Die Fledermaus”
A highlight of the evening is the opportunity to attend a stage rehearsal of Die Fledermaus. The operetta by Johann Strauss is one of the well-known works of musical theater. During a rehearsal, one can directly experience how a production is prepared and further developed on stage. Visitors will gain a special impression of the work in the theater.
A Look Behind the Scenes
In addition to the stage rehearsal, theater technology is the focus. The Erfurt Theater provides insights into its backstage technology and different work areas of the house. This makes visible how many different tasks and technical processes are behind a performance.
The event is aimed at everyone interested in theater, stage work, and the connection between art and technology. Instead of just attending a finished performance, guests can get to know the theater as a place of work and production. The Long Night of Sciences provides a suitable framework and makes hidden processes in the theater tangible.
