A celebration for book lovers in the Small Synagogue
On Saturday, October 24, 2026, the Rosita-Peterseim Library in the Small Synagogue Erfurt will transform into a vibrant place for young reading fans, families, and everyone who has retained their joy for books. From 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, the holiday program will combine literary discovery, shared listening, and creative design.
Library Bingo: Reading as a Journey of Discovery
Library Bingo turns browsing between books into a playful experience. Children from five years old will explore the library, search for exciting media, and experience how curiosity creates a personal reading path. The world of books does not appear as a silent collection, but as an invitation to find, question, and think further.
Reading Time with Voice and Imagination
A special part of the program is Reading Time from 10:15 AM to 10:40 AM. When stories are spoken out loud, language, rhythm, and characters unfold their own atmosphere. Shared listening creates an intimate reading atmosphere and opens children's access to narrative worlds, literary art, and imaginative pictures.
Creating Bookmarks: Creativity between Book Pages
In the DIY workshop, individual bookmarks will be created with colors, motifs from selected media, and personal ideas. The creative work immediately extends the literary experience: From the encounter with books, a personal item emerges that will remind one of stories, characters, and the joy of reading even after the event day.
Library Knowledge from First Hand
Librarian Manuela Wilbricht will answer questions about the Rosita-Peterseim Library and provide insights into its offerings. Thus, the action day combines reading promotion with cultural education and shows the significance of libraries as open spaces for knowledge, encounters, and cultural exchange.
A Literary Experience for the Whole Family
The event is aimed at children from five years old, their accompanying persons, and all those young at heart. Books, Bingo, and crafting combine educational objectives with playful ease. Visitors can expect a varied morning with stories, discoveries, and personal creative power in a special historical setting.
Anyone who wants to experience reading not just as an activity, but as a shared cultural experience will find an inspiring meeting point in the Small Synagogue. Admission is free, and registration is not required.
