Advent Crafting in the Library: Creative Christmas Time for Children

As the days get shorter outside, the Children's and Youth Library Erfurt transforms into a cozy crafting space. During the Advent crafting on November 25, 2026, children aged four and up, together with their families, will discover the joy of creating and get creatively into the Christmas spirit.

Create big Christmas ideas with little hands

Colors, paper, and imaginative materials invite experimentation. The children develop their own ideas, cut, glue, and create individual artworks. This results in personal decorations that bring a piece of Advent spirit home.

Child-friendly learning fun with all senses

Crafting supports fine motor skills, concentration, and creativity in an age-appropriate way. Children experience how something new emerges from individual materials, gaining valuable learning experience in the process. Collaborative creation also boosts self-confidence, communication, and a sense of community.

Quality time in a special environment

Amid books and stories, a calm and inspiring atmosphere is created. Children's laughter, curious looks, and the anticipation of Christmas make the Advent crafting a warm family experience. Accompanying adults can closely observe their children's interests and attentively support their creative development.

A safe place for curious children

The Children's and Youth Library provides a protected setting for a child-friendly event. The activity is aimed at children aged four and up, combining creative activities with shared time, fun learning, and pre-Christmas joy.

What families can expect
